The Trek Santoft Sizzler 5 Hour Relay is being held on Sunday August 5th at Brandon Hall Forest, Santoft - approx 14km from Bulls.   This is a fun event with plenty of spot prizes (supported by Trek Bicycles) and awesome trophies for class winners. Food and Coffee available on site.


Track

The Santoft trails are sand based and provide a great all-weather surface during autumn and winter. The forest creates a micro-climate, which is warmer, sheltered and dry, so don't worry about the weather. The relay track is an easy 7km loop, able to be ridden by the average rider in around 25 mins. Open flowing single track trails are used, with the frequent, short road sections allowing easy passing.

Event Times

Registration from 7:30am to 9:15am on the day in the event village to collect team numbers etc. All vehicles in event village by 9:15am. Race briefing at 9:30am - all riders to attend. Race Start is 9:45am

Race Details

Race length is 5 hours plus one lap. Race start is at 9:45am. Hooter will sound at 2:45pm and course will be closed at the exit of the village. All riders on track at 2:45pm will complete the lap they are on which will be counted.  Places will be determined from the total number of laps and finishing order.  

Electronic Timing will be used and tags are velcoed to number plates.  Each team is given two number plates and one tag, which must be transferred to the next riders number plate.  It is the team's responsibility to make sure the tag is firmly attached and does not come off during a lap.  Please return tags and number plates at the end of the race.  

Spot Prizes (supported by Trek) will all be distributed during the race.  Bring your costumes - there will be prizes for the best and worst dressed teams, best and worst team names, best wheelie through the village and anything else we decide to make up.  A brief prize giving to give out trophies to class winners will commence soon after the last rider is in.

Safety

First Aid and an ambulance will be on site. Marshalls will be on the course to look after rider safety. Team Captains will need to complete team members details at registration with ICE (in case of emergency) numbers. All riders must attend Race Briefing at 9:30am.

  • Solo Men
  • Solo Women
  • 2 Person Team - Men
  • 2 Person Team - Women
  • Mixed* Doubles
  • 3 & 4 Person Mixed* Teams
  • Family Teams of 3 or more**.  

* Mixed teams must have at least one dude or one chick in each team. 

** Family Teams can have from 3 to 6 members. There is no age restriction, but riders should be able to complete the loop within 45 minutes, be confident and able to hold their line when being passed and not be a hazard to adult riders. 

Cost

Pre-entries - are processed through EventFinder and payment is by Credit or Debit Card. If this an issue, then email us for other options.

$20 per person for solo and two person teams plus $2 booking fee per team.

$15 per person for teams of 3 or more plus $2 booking fee per team.

Family Teams are $45 for a team of 3 or more plus $2 booking fee.

You can enter on the day, but there is $5 per person surcharge. To make the event run smoother, we would appreciate if you could pre-enter.

Early Bird Prize Draw

No Refunds.  The Event will run rain or shine and postponement will only occur for safety reasons.
