Skills Development

The Manawatu Mountain Bike Club has a strong focus on developing mountain bikers. We provide a number of opportunities for riders to have a go at mountain biking as well as a programme for developing riding and/or racing skills for all ages. We also have a program for coaches trained to BikeNZ standards.

During the 1st and 4th school terms on Thursday evenings we have up to 180 kids and adults at Paneiri Park (end of Maxwells Line, Palmerston North) to learn the basics of mountain biking (see below for our Feilding programme).

No further registrations will be accepted either online or in person after session #2 on 16th February 2017 due to the number of registrations and the nature of the programme.

Then we move to the old capped landfill site on Monday 13th February, also from 5.30pm to 6.45pm.

The Manawatu Mountain Bike Club has been committed to rider training and skills development for over 10 years,
Started by Colin and Raewyn Knight to meet the needs of our young riders, Skills development has grown into a well organised fun programme for riders of any age or skill.

We have a dedicated team of passionate coaches and helpers, many of which are working towards BikeNZ coaching qualifications, who would love to mould your riding into something truly awesome.

Whether you are starting out and want direction on even the most basic of skills or, have been riding for years but feel you still lack some skills or, just love riding and getting out on your bike, Skills development is the place for you. Come along, we would love to see you grow in confidence and ability.
We always need help! If you are a competent Mountain Biker who loves teaching others the sport you love and have a couple of hours a week spare, then please get in touch.  Also, if you are a non-rider but are keen to help out we have a spot available to assist with the registration side of things.

We'd love your help, so please contact Colin Knight caileancrk@gmail.com
